Doc Holliday is one of the most beloved dandy-gamblers from the American West, who often doubled as a lawman on the side of his friend Wyatt Earp. Their legendary story inspired many Hollywood films over the years. One of the most popular movies isTombstone, where Doc Holliday delivers the classic line, "I'm your Huckleberry." This beautifully engraved and nickel finished revolver was a limited edition offering by Pietta.
This Colt Model 1873 Single Action revolver has a 3-1/2" barrel, in caliber .45 Colt, with engraving found on the nickel finished frame, barrel, cylinder, triggerguard and backstrap. This revolver is fitted with faux ivory bird's head grips. The backstrap is engraved Huckleberry. This revolver is offered in as-new condition with a bright bore. The factory carton and paperwork are included. Ready for same day shipment on receipt of your funds, and your Federal Firearms Licensed dealer's signed FFL copy. Our top view shows the floral engraved 3-1/2" barrel, and blade front sight. The rear sight is the notch in the frame, and it makes a nice sight picture. Your eye will instinctively center these rugged sights. The top of the barrel is stamped Cimarron Firearms Co. / Fredericksburg, Texas in two lines. The side of the barrel is stamped .45 Colt and the bottom of the barrel is stamped 1873 SA Pietta - Italy. The bore is bright, clean, and is ready to shoot.
This is the later, “smokeless" frame revolver that has a spring mounted cross screw, which operates as a push button, to dismount the cylinder without tools. Earlier models required a screw to be loosened to slide out the cylinder pin. The faux ivory grips are in excellent condition, with no visible handling marks.
Pull the hammer to half cock, and swing open the loading gate, to remove the empties and reload the cylinder. We strongly recommend carrying any single action revolver with the hammer down, on an empty cylinder, for your safety. Exactly as the trail wise cowboys of old! The engraved frame is marked PAT. SEPT. 19. 1871 /JULY 2. 72 JAN 19. 75 in two lines below the cylinder, just as an antique revolver would.
