This reproduction Colt Sheriff's Model 1861 Navy revolver features a .36 caliber, 5-1/2" barrel with blued finish, color case hardened frame and loading lever, and blued hammer, triggerguard and back strap with stained walnut grips. This revolver is in as-new condition with a bright bore and comes with the factory carton and paperwork. A bag of .376 diameter cast round balls and .36 caliber lubed felt wads are also included.

Manufactured by Pietta, the barrel is stamped F. LLIPIETTA - MADE IN ITALY on the right side. The left side is stamped BLACKPOWDER ONLY 36 CAL. This is the four crew frame variation and the bottom of the grip frame has the notch to secure the stock. No shoulder stock is included. The 5-1/2" barrel is fitted with a brass blade front sight. A notch in the hammer acts as a rear sight to provide maximum sight radius. The walnut grips do not show any handling marks.

We recommend 21 grains of GOEX FFFg powder, and a .375" round ball, for best accuracy and best compression. Cover each ball with a small amount of our #LUBE-SPG bullet lubricant grease. Despite your best efforts, this revolver will need to be cleaned after 12 or 18 shots. Remove the wedge, barrel, and cylinder. Wipe the face of the cylinder, and wipe the cylinder pin. If you continue to load and fire a badly fouled revolver, the effort needed to cock and fire the gun will become greater, causing the small internal hand, spring, and cylinder latch to become worn and slightly damaged. Continued abuse will cause the cylinder and latch to become out-of-time. Simple cleaning and maintenance will prevent problems.
