Sideplate for English Fowlers, wax cast brass

This attractive early sideplate will work well on fine fowlers. The two lock bolt holes are indicated, sized for Jim Chambers round face English, or Virginia fowler, Early Ketland, or R.E. Davis Tryon flintlocks. Wax cast steel .082" thick, and cast- in draft to ease inletting. Overall length of 5.93".
A well finished brass example with hand engraved border and floral scroll design used on a English fullstock rifle by contemporary builder J. E. Brown.
