This highly detailed serpent sideplate is designed to fit our North West Trade Gun stock and Tryon flintlock. This sideplate may be surface mounted, or cut into a very shallow inlet. Debur the edges and the three casting gates from the flat back surface before installation. Made for right hand use, only. Overall length 6-1/16", height 1-1/16", thickness 0.080".
The hole pads have pre-indicated holes for the lock bolts and tail screw, ideal to fit the Tryon Trade Gun lock, or other locks that will accept a 3-1/8" lock bolt hole spacing.
Made in the USA. Wax cast brass, we recommend wire brushing with very fine bristles, and polishing compound (Simichrome or other brass polish). Even a abrasive kitchen pad can be used to brighten the raised surfaces. Adding contrast and shading will give this sideplate eye popping appeal. Use a Japan black, or Birchwood Casey's Brass Black and lightly polish the raised surfaces bright.
