Gunmakers flintlock kit is a Siler flint kit, with an oversize plate.If you are familiar with the internal workings of flintlocks, our Siler kit can be assembled into a fine lock. All holes to be drilled in the plate are spotted. A drill guide is included to aid you in accurately locating holes. Springs are hardened and tempered. Kits come with instructions for assembly and tempering in your home work shop. Assembly requires skilled use of tools, including a drill press with vise. Use fractional drill sizes 5/64, 7/64, 9/64, 11/64, 15/64”, a No. 19 drill bit, and 1/4-20 and 8-32 taps.
We recommend that you order a dozen Flint-#ENG-6 English 3/4" gun flints, too.
