The pointed tail, beveled edges, and a molding at front and tail are similar to the sideplate attributed a Bucks County rifle by John Shuler. Pre cast holes will need to be drilled for clearance to accept a 8-32 or 10-32 lock bolt. Counter-bored for lock bolts with 3/8" flat or round head. Holes spaced for right hand L&R's Classic lock series, #LOCK-LR-2100, or #LOCK-LR-2150 or a large Siler flintlock. Overall length 5-3/16", height 1-1/16", thickness 0.080".
