This antique percussion lock is marked Bird & Brothers and has a well used patina. The lock plate measures 4-3/8" long and is decorated with light engraving. Most of the hammer cup is worn away from use with corrosive antique caps. The mainspring hangs well below the plate and the hammer is loose on the tumbler. The tumbler is cut with a half-cock notch. Sold as-is.
