This antique 1840 cavalry saber has a 36" curved blade and comes with its original steel scabbard. The scabbard has aged to a dark brown patina. The leather and brass wire wrap are missing on the grip. A large crack runs down both sides of the grip. The brass guard has aged to a dark patina and does have side-to-side play. The blade has a speckled brown patina and is stamped K&C in a circle, for Kirschbaum & Co. near the guard.

This antique saber would make a great display piece for your collection.
