Tinder Box,
with burning glass lens,
3'' wide by 4-1/2'', black finish, engraved brass
A nicely made replica of a popular trade item. Made in the U.S.A. by our friend Tedd Cash, this oval tobacco box is modeled after an original sold by the famous Hudson's Bay Company, during the fur trade era. This box has been finished to a dark black and machine engraved to reveal the brass.
The lid fits and seals tightly. A burning glass lens is fitted to the cover. This box is a great place to keep your tinder, char-cloth, and tinder-cord dry, until time for a fire making contest. Dampness is a common problem at the Rendezvous. This nicely made tobacco box is air tight.
A 3'' wide by 4-1/2'' long brass tobacco box. We have only this one example.
