This scrimshaw powder horn is finished with a very light brown patina on the body and a black colored tip. The tip has raised lip with panels to a wedding band. The horn measures 12" around the outside curve from the tip to the end of the wood base. The horn has a 1/2" long raised lip to mount a strap. Small wood pegs secure the base to the horn. A turned wooden stopper is fitted and secured by a lanyard. The horn is scrimshaw engraved with a British Coat of Arms, the Crown Point Fort, a hell horse, and some Pennsylvania Dutch designs.
