Our .50 caliber 36" straight octagon barrel blank is cut rifled with six lands and square grooves with a caliber appropriate 1 in 66" twist for a patched round ball. The muzzle is crowned. The breech is threaded 0.500" deep with a 5/8-18 thread for a breech plug.
As with any barrel, the octagon flats will require draw filing.
