This replica 1849 Colt Pocket Model revolver is .31 caliber with a five shot cylinder. This is a early import marked Madison Import Corp. Made in Italy on the left side of the barrel. The barrel and cylinder are finished with a dark blue. The frame and loading lever are color case hardened in mottled colors. The triggerguard and grip strap are brass. This revolver has been cocked, as shown by the small marks on the cylinder from the latch. We note that this revolver will not securely engage the half cock notch and firm trigger pressure will over power the notch and drop the hammer.

The top of the 4" barrel is unmarked. The bottom of the barrel has a S. Marco stamp. The barrel is fitted with a small brass bead front sight. To maximize sight radius the hammer has a "V" notch to act as the rear sight. The cylinder is factory engraved with a battle scene. The walnut grips are correctly finished in the rich reddish brown color found on fine original Colt revolvers.

The brass triggerguard and backstrap have a mellow patina from long storage. The loading lever is color case hardened. The side of the frame is marked Italian proof marks, required by their law. The revolver is fitted with 12-24 threaded pocket model nipples. The nipples are new hardened steel nipple for No. 11 CCI percussion caps. Order our nipple PFIE-I if you require spares.
