This CVA Kentucky pistol was hand assembled and finished from a Connecticut Valley Arms, Inc. kit, made in Spain. The pistol is trimmed with brass furniture. The bird-head grip is comfortable in a medium size man's hand, and the beech stock is stained to a golden brown. The bore is bright and has been well maintained. The stock has a few scattered handling marks and the brass trim has aged to a dark patina. This example is reasonably will fitted and well shaped.

The correctly styled Maslin percussion lock is factory die stamped with engraved patterns, and is color case hardened. The drum is fitted with a stainless steel 6-1mm threaded nipple. The .50 caliber rifled barrel is 9-7/8" long, 7/8" octagon, and is cold blued to a silvery-gray finish. The barrel is fitted with the factory brass blade front sight and flat top rear sight. The left hand quarter flat has the factory serial number and manufacturer's markings Connecticut Valley Arms Inc. / Made in Spain Black Powder Only / Kentucky Pistol .50 caliber. The barrel is served by a wooden ramrod fitted with brass tips. The tips are not threaded to accept cleaning or loading accessories and we would suggest using a larger diameter pistol loading rod for loading and cleaning, see our #PL-6-50.
