This Classic Deluxe double flint shotgun is stocked in walnut and trimmed in polished steel furniture. The highly polished flint locks are factory engraved with a floral pattern. The gun was manufactured by Davide Pedersoli of Italy. This shotgun is offered in new, unfired condition and comes with the factory green plastic case. The locks only have a few strikes on the frizzen faces from test sparking. Weight is 8.0 pounds to help absorb the recoil from the 20 gauge bores. The 13-3/8" and 14-3/8" trigger reach should fit today's taller size shooter quite well.

The factory polished and browned barrels are 28" long, including the breech plugs. The breech end of the barrels have a factory engraved band. The front sight is a standard brass bead, and a shallow dish on the top of the tang is used for quick sighting. The right hand cylinder bore barrel has a .625" muzzle diameter. We recommend our 19 gauge wads and cards for use with this barrel, or you could shoot a patched round ball. The left hand improved cylinder bore barrel has a .605" muzzle diameter. This barrel can be loaded with the 19 gauge over powder card WAD-19-A passed through on edge then flipped. Use a 24 gauge fiber wad WAD-24-C that can pass through the choke without damage. The thin 19 gauge overshot card WAD-19-B is flexible enough to pass through the choke. Both bores are bright and unfired. The left side of the left barrel is marked with the factory information and serial number.

The straight grip and forearm are press checkered with a basket weave pattern. The buttstock is fitted with a wide polished steel buttplate to help absorb the recoil from the 20 gauge bores. The top view shows the long tang is polished bright, and factory engraved to match the triggerguard, locks, and entry pipe. The bottom view shows the silver oval initial plate inlet just behind the floral engraved trigger guard. A swivel post is fitted in the toe of the buttstock, and the rear ramrod pipe has an integral sling swivel post. No sling is included. The checkered forend has a single key that retains the barrel. The key allows for quick disassembly for cleaning. Simply withdraw the ramrod, close the frizzens, press out the key with firm thumb pressure, and lift the muzzle end, to dismount the barrels for easy cleaning. The wedge key is slotted and fitted with a capture pin, which prevents it from becoming lost in the field, exactly like better original guns.

Be sure to close the frizzens before removing the barrels to prevent scratching them. Immerse the breech end in a bucket of hot soapy water, and place a wet cleaning patch on our #RAMROD-C-29-10 cleaning rod, fitted with our #Jag-20-10 cleaning jag tip. Push the air out, and draw the water in, as you pump the ramrod the full length of each barrel, a few times. Change the water, and the patch. When the patch comes out clean, you are ready to wipe the bores dry, using a patch whetted with a water displacing oil. The wooden ramrod is fitted with a brass shotgun style loading tip on one end and a brass tip with 10-32 threads for loading and cleaning accessories on the opposite end. No cheekpiece is carved, making this shotgun equally handy for right or left hand shooters.

The Pedersoli flint locks are polished bright and engraved with a floral pattern. Both locks are perfect inside, with strong springs, secure half-cock notches, and full cock notches that release smoothly with normal trigger finger pressure. Ignition is aided by the stainless steel vent liners, perfectly centered and correctly positioned well above the pans, to serve as a window on the center of the priming flash. The vents are slotted to allow easy removal. We stock the spare 8-1.25mm vent liner for Davide Pedersoli rifles and pistols, should you ever need one.
