The 10" straight octagon barrel is finished to a blue. The .54 caliber bore is bright, cut rifled with six lands and grooves with a slow twist for a patched round ball. The barrel is fitted with a nickel silver blade front sight dovetailed behind the muzzle. A small flat top rear sight is dovetailed at the rear of the barrel to maximize the sight radius.
Viewed from above the breech end of the barrel is fitted with a flared tang. A single tang bolt is threaded into the trigger plate below. The triggerguard is mounted with wood screws and is shaped with an acorn final up front. The pistol is fitted with a 5/16" diameter ramrod, and the end has a brass tip threaded to accept 10-32 cleaning and loading accessories. We recommend our #PL-7-54 to service this pistol. One domed head lock bolt passes directly through the stock to secure the lock on the opposite side.
Finished to match the barrel, the small Queen Anne flintlock has a crisp action and a well hardened frizzen. When using our best 3/4" knapped gun flints, the lock will throw a shower of sparks into the pan. A steel vent liner is well centered, positioned correctly to provide fast ignition. The trigger provides a smooth release of the lock.
