Each hollow base bullet is about 385 grain weight. About .503" - .504" as cast diameter, from the Lyman 500-476 hollow base Minie mold.

Minie bullets are made to shoot well in rifles with slow twist for round ball. The large hollow base places the center of gravity forward, causing the bullet to be inherently stable, accurate in slow twist rifle barrels.

The thin skirt of a soft lead Minie ball is easily dented in transit if the parcel is roughly handled. We do not replace or refund Minie balls damaged in transit. We highly recommend purchasing a Minie ball mold and hand casting them to the assure a consistent size and undamaged ball.
