This blued steel globe front sight is slotted to accept the classic Sharps sight inserts. Rotate the upper retaining spring to insert one of eighteen sight inserts, from the complete set, included with the sight.
Manufactured in Italy, by Davide Pedersoli, the dovetail base is slightly larger than a 3/8" standard dovetail for a snug fit on a Davide Pedersoli 1874 Sharps Rifle. It will NOT fit the larger 7/16" dovetail slots on Shiloh, C. Sharps, or antique Sharps rifle dovetails.
The dovetail base is .382" across, .092" deep, .575" wide at the center. The sight aperture is centered 0.33" above the plane of the barrel.
