Drilled for a 3/8" diameter powder chamber, you may enlarge this cavity, but it must remain smaller than the bore diameter, to prevent entry of a cleaning jag, which might become stuck.
This is the standard plug, used on the .54 caliber Thompson Center Hawken, and Renegade rifle, percussion, right hand, with 1" octagon barrel.
