This .45 caliber percussion Philadelphia Derringer Pistol is in used condition. The stock has scattered handling marks and has a crack from the left hand corner of the breech about 1/2" into the stock. The beech wood stock has been finished as walnut with a light brown tone and gloss finish. The percussion lock is color case hardened and the barrel is finished to a gray brown. The grip has a bird's shape, and this pistol will just fit in your hand. .

The .45 caliber 7/8" octagon barrel is 2-3/8" in length is easy to point, and will have modest recoil. The barrel does not have any sights fitted. The rifled bore is bright. The barrel is mounted with a single pin, and the tang bolt which engages the steel triggerplate. The brass trigger is encompassed by a brass triggerguard. The brass has a well aged appearance. The mortise for the triggerguard has some lighter colored wood filler.

The percussion lock is color case hardened with swirls and blues and grays. The lock plate and hammer feature cast-in engraving. The forward extension of the lock plate is brass with cast-in scroll designs. The lock plate reads DERRINGER - PHILADELPHIA behind the hammer.

The stock will not accept a ramrod, but a very simple hand made plunger rod is included (not pictured). This plunger rod does not have any provisions for threaded accesseores. We would suggest one of our 12" ramrods with a tip installed that could be used for cleaning accessories.

This is an interesting replica of a Henry Deringer vest pocket pistol (sometimes spelled Derringer), assembled from a kit, in used condition with some marks on the stock and a well aged patina.
