This is the famous 1873 Colt Peacemaker, except in .44 caliber percussion. Exempt from regulation, no FFL license is needed to ship this percussion revolver within the USA. This percussion revolver appears to be in near new condition, with only a faint line on the cylinder from cocking. The frame and hammer are brightly colored case hardened, the walnut grips are nicely varnished, exactly like the original Colt. The cylinder release button allows easy cleaning. The cartridge ejector rod is positioned under the barrel, but not needed for the percussion cylinder. The loading gate allows easy capping after loading. A special loading tool, or stand will be needed to compress the balls into the cylinder. The factory box with instructions are included. The 5-1/2" barrel is fitted with a steel blade front sight. The rear sight is a notch in the color case hardened steel frame. The bore is bright and it appears to be unfired. This nice percussion 1873 Colt replica has the later quick release button. The cylinder can be easily removed for cleaning and loading. We recommend loading the .454" round ball, over 30 grains of FFFg powder, for best accuracy. A full load of 40 grains of FFFg powder, over the .450" conical bullet, will exactly match original .45 Long Colt ballistics.
