This scrimshawed powder horn has a warm cream color. The tip has a carved groove to secure a strap. The horn measures 11" around the outside curve from the tip to the end of the wood base. The acorn finial adds about 1-1/4" to the overall length. The base is secured to the horn with small brass nails. A wooden stopper is fitted. The top of the horn is scrimshawed with an eagle. The right side is scrimshawed with the word LIBERTY surrounded by stars. The left side is scrimshawed with the word FREEDOM surrounded by stars. The bottom is scrimshawed One free man defending his home / is worth ten paid warriors in two lines. A thin leather strap is attached to the horn.
