This fullstock percussion pistol is stocked in black walnut, with iron furniture, and nickel silver accents. The .54 caliber 7-1/2" barrel is finished to a smooth chocolate brown. The Siler Mountain percussion lock has a strong mainspring and fast lock time. The walnut stock has a bag butt profile to fit a large man's hand and this pistol points naturally when aimed. This pistol is new, unfired. Weight is 2.2 pounds.
The 15/16" straight octagon barrel is cut rifled with six lands and wider grooves in .54 caliber with a slow twist for a patched round ball. The bore is bright, clean, and as new. The exterior is finished to a smooth chocolate brown. The 7-1/2" long barrel is fitted with a browned iron blade front sight dovetailed directly behind the muzzle. The flat top rear sight is dovetailed at the breech, this allows for maximum sight radius on this pistol. A single bolt passes through the long pointed tang and engages the trigger plate below. A single wedge key retains the barrel to the forearm.
The walnut stock has a bag butt profile, for a secure hold. The pistol is trimmed in browned steel furniture. The top view shows an oval nickel silver thumbpiece decorates the top of the grip. The bottom view shows the browned steel triggerguard and nickel silver ramrod entry pipe. The 3/8" wooden ramrod is fitted with a nickel silver tip threaded to accept 10-32 cleaning and loading accessories. Two small nickel silver washer style sideplates surround the lock bolts.
Ignition is provided by a percussion Siler Mountain caplock notched to accept the powder drum. This nice lock uses Siler internals, so spare parts are readily available if needed. The lock is browned to match the barrel. The powder drum is well supported by the lock plate and is fitted with a stainless steel nipple for No. 11 percussion caps. The lock has a smooth trigger release, short hammer travel, and fast lock time.
This pistol will be perfect for your late fur trade, or mountain man impression. Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund. Postage is your only risk, when you order any one-of-a-kind gun from Track, whether new, used, or antique.
