This fullstock rifle is in decorator condition. The 42" barrel bore has been drilled to .46 caliber smoothbore and is in very rough condition. The front action lock is marked Riddle and will not engage the full cock notch. The brass furniture on this rifle are 19th century commercial castings. The sideplate is marked 1884, and it could have been produced that late, but is could also be spurious. The maple stock is varnished to a dark brown tone. The stock has elaborate incised carved designs over the buttstock. All the carving has a washed out appearance as if it was sanded long ago. It does display well if you you desire a longrifle for decoration. Sold as-is for decorator use.
