Known as the Colt Model 1861 Navy revolver, it is .36 caliber with a 7-1/2" blued round barrel, factory engraved cylinder, color case hardened steel frame, brass back strap and triggerguard, with walnut grips. This revolver has a few marks on the cylinder from cocking, but does not display any heavy wear from use or disassembly. The bore is bright. Manufactured by A. Uberti & Co and Imported by Navy Arms Company circa 1963.

The 7-5/8" round barrel is marked Navy Arms Co. Ridgefield NJ - Italy. on the top. A small blade serves as the front sight, and a notch in the hammer is used to sight the revolver. The triggerguard and backstrap are brass with a mellow patina from age. We recommend 21 grains of GOEX FFFg powder, and a .375" round ball, for best accuracy. Cover each ball with a small amount of our #Lube-SPG bullet lubricant. Despite your best efforts, this revolver will need to be cleaned after 12 or 18 shots. Remove the wedge, barrel, and cylinder. Wipe the face of the cylinder, and wipe the cylinder pin. The A. Uberti marking is beneath the loading lever.

If you continue to load and fire a badly fouled revolver, the effort needed to cock and fire the gun will become greater, causing the small internal hand, spring, and cylinder latch to become worn prematurely. Continued use will cause the cylinder and latch to become out-of-time. Simple cleaning and maintenance will prevent problems.
