The Model 1841 U.S. Percussion Rifle is also known as the "Mississippi Rifle" due to the use of the rifle by a Mississippi regiment under the command of Jefferson Davis during the Mexican War. It is estimated that nearly 70,000 of these rifles were produced by a combination of the Harpers Ferry arsenal and various contractors. Manufactured by Euroarms this rifle appears to be very lightly used. The brass has mellowed from long storage. The brown barrel finish has a few small marks with most near the muzzle. Trigger reach is 13-1/2", and this rifle weighs 10 pounds.
The .54 caliber tapered round 33" barrel is rifled with seven lands and grooves. Highly polished the brown has a a very few speckles near the right hand side of the muzzle. It is very common for the brown finish on these barrels to display wear from normal handling and cleaning on used examples. The bore appears to be bright and has been well maintained. The barrel is fitted with a small blade front sight and a flat top rear sight dovetailed ahead of the breech.
This 1841 U.S. Percussion Rifle has Italian proof marks. It was manufactured by Euroarms, Italy, and is so marked on the mid point of the barrel. The brass patchbox is retained with three browned steel screws, as original. The walnut stock is stained to a reddish brown. The stock is fitted with a brass buttplate with rounded comb. The flat end and simple comb shape are a common mid-19th century military fashion to simplify the fitting of this often difficult to fit part. The toe is rounded in military fashion. The brass triggerguard is fitted with a correct swivel for your military style sling. The steel ramrod has a flared brass tip and 5-.8mm male threads on the opposite end. The side of the barrel is stamped with the serial number and Italian proof marks, required by their law. A long thin brass sideplate is inlet flush with the side panel with two lock bolts.
The lock plate has a correct mottled color case hardened finish. Internally, the lock is nicely factory finished. The lock plate is marked with a Eagle over U.S. The 8-1mm steel musket nipple is installed and it does not appear to have seen much use. Order our nipple #MMI-I if you need a spare.

Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund. Postage is your only risk, when you order any one-of-a-kind gun from Track, whether new, used, or antique.
