The barrel is 26" length, blued steel, .50 caliber, with 1 turn in 48" twist rifling. This compromise twist will shoot either balls or bullets. Try the Hornady Great Plains bullets, and similar .50 caliber Maxi and Minie bullets. A brass blade front sight and adjustable rear sight are fitted. The drum and nipple is fitted to accept a No. 11 6-1mm metric nipple.

Used, this short rifle has a clean bright bore. The color hardened percussion lock shows no obvious wear. The factory stock varnish has a few small handling marks, from normal use.
