used, by Aldo Uberti
The attractive walnut stock has the classic rifle profile, with crescent style buttplate, and has a deep red color with a satin finish. The blued steel buttplate is well fitted. The stock has some minor handling marks, especially on the left side of the buttstock. The top view shows the comb of the crescent buttplate and tapered comb of the buttstock. The top of the barrel is stamped 45 Colt just ahead of the case colored action. The top of the barrel is also marked Cimarron's Repeating Arms. Fredericksburg, Texas. USA / -King's Improvement Patented March 29, 1866. October 16, 1860- in two lines. The serial number has an "H" prefix, indicating this rifle is a current production rifle.
The bottom view shows the polished brass cartridge lifter. The manual lever latch works perfectly. Rotate it one quarter turn, to release the lever for use. The side view shows the color case hardened action, with the sideplates that instantly identify the 1873 Winchester. The trigger release is smooth and light, with only a small motion required. The cartridge loading gate allows easy reloading in the field.
Cartridge cases are readily available from a variety of sources. It may be wise to buy a quantity of cases, all at the same time, from the same lot, for uniformity. We recommend ordering a least 100 cases, and perhaps 200, depending on your reloading schedule. Track can supply the .45 Colt mold, shell holder, loading dies, bullet lubricant, loading press, sizing dies, and black powder. You can be ready for Cowboy Action Shooting events in a few hours.
