This scrimshawed flat powder horn has a decorative border around the base with a scrimshaw heron with fish on the right hand side. The left hand side side has a Federal eagle with olive branch and spear. The horn has a dark brown tip with a patina finished base. The neck of the horn has raised ring to secure a strap, and scrimshaw border transition to the body. A iron staple is mounted in the base. The horn measures 9" around the outside curve from the tip to the end of the wood base. Small wood pegs secure the base to the horn. A turned wooden stopper is fitted and secured with a lanyard to prevent loss.
