Antique Remington New Model Army Revolver,
.44 caliber, 8" barrel,
gray brown patina, walnut grips with some chips
Part Number: AAS-759
Availability: In Stock
Price: $1,349.00
This antique Remington New Model Army Revolver is late production with a three line address stamp and post front sight. The walnut grips have some chips and show some evidence of reshaping to de-bur the edges that have chipped. The gun has aged to a dark gray brown patina. The bore appears to be fair with clearly visible rifling, it is mostly bright with some scattered dark pitting visible.

The top of the barrel is stamped with the three line patent date typical of late production PATENTED SEPT 14 1858 over E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILLION NEW YORK. over New Model. This stamping is very faint due to the aged patina. The brass triggerguard is stamped with the sub-inspectors initial "P". By lifting the loading lever the serial number 60xxx is clearly visible. The steel frame is stamped with a very faint letter "C" behind the cylinder shroud. The letter "W" is stamped in the frame, just ahead of the visible threaded portion of the barrel. The opposite side is stamped "C". The loading lever is stamped with the letter "G". The walnut grips have a number of chips and missing wood. The edges on the chipped areas appear to have been reshaped with a file long ago to smooth them. No military cartouche marks are visible. All the nipples in the cylinder appear to be antique. We did not attempt to remove the nipples.
