Used, this White Mountain Carbine is stocked in walnut with a few handling marks in the finish This handy carbine has a adjustable rear sight, factory fitted black rubber recoil pad, sling swivel mounts, and blued steel furniture. The 21" blued barrel is octagon-to-round and fitted with a blued steel bead front sight and adjustable rear sight. The 50 caliber bore is bright and well maintained. This carbine in the later production with the 1 in 38" twist rate. Trigger reach is 13-3/4". Weight is 6.4 lbs.
Stocked in American black walnut, this carbine has a some scattered marks in the finish from handling and use. The toe of the stock and single ramrod pipe are fitted with sling swivel studs for quick detach swivels, to provide easy carrying when in the field. The octagon-to-round barrel is fitted with a hooked breech to allow for easy cleaning. Put the lock at half cock, remove the ramrod, drift the wedge key loose, and the barrel can be removed for cleaning without worry of getting any residue. The barrel bluing has light wear from use. The breech is stamped with T/C factory markings and serial number.
The toe has a blued steel stud for attaching a sling swivel. The forward stud is attached to the single ramrod pipe. The blued steel trigger guard is 5" long with a large bow to accommodate a gloved hand. The single trigger has a blued steel trigger plate. The percussion lock is color case hardened, with factory engraving. It features a fly detent, for smooth lock action, and a powerful coil mainspring. The lock is retained by a single blued steel lock bolt with a blued steel washer-style side plate. The rifle includes a wooden ramrod with blued steel tips. The rear tip has 10-32 female threads for attaching your loading and cleaning jags.
