This antique halfstock rifle is in relic condition with cracks in the maple stock as well as tape residue around the forearm. The percussion lock does not hold full cock, and the hammer is a replacement from a Spanish pistol. The .50 caliber 31-1/2" barrel has a rough dark bore and the barrel exterior was scrubbed with steel wool. The breech appears to be signed JJ Mewhinter. A brass horse head patchbox is fitted on the right side of the buttstock. Sold as-is for decorator use.
