Often called the Napoleon Dueling Pistol, this nice .45 caliber percussion LePage Target Pistol is unfired. The walnut stock has classic French styling, with fluted grip, and man-sized grip proportions. Made by Armi Sport of Italy, the .45 caliber 9" rifled bore has a fast twist, deep grooves, and the crowned muzzle is polished as bright as are the barrel and lock.

The brightly polished percussion lock is tastefully factory engraved LePage, with an attractive border and bank note style floral scrolls. The engraved percussion lock is fitted with a fly detent, and strong mainspring for fast lock time. The bolster is threaded into the side of the barrel and is fitted with a 6-1mm threaded nipple. The factory nipple has a wide base and require a musket size nipple wrench to remove the nipple. The blued rear sight is mounted far to the rear of the barrel, and the steel blade front sight is mounted far forward, to maximize sight radius, for best accuracy. The blued steel tang screw slot is aligned with the barrel, a nice touch.

The double set triggers are the traditional orientation. They can be used set, or unset. To set the rear trigger pull it until it latches. Once set the front trigger requires only a few ounces of pressure to fire the lock. The small trigger adjustment screw between the two triggers will adjust the set trigger pressure. Adjust the screw inboard to decrease pressure, or out board to increase. You may set the triggers, or cock the hammer, in any sequence.

The top view shows the octagon .45 caliber 9" barrel, nicely polished and finished Armoury bright. The tang is anchored with a tang screw that must be withdrawn to dismount the barrel. The wedge key require firm pressure to remove. Use a small hardwood, or brass drift such as our #TOOL-KEY-B. The wedge key is slotted to allow capture. Simply insert a piece of sewing pin or music wire in the slot, under the outboard oval inlay. The bottom view shows the French style triggerguard, with finger spur, for easy aiming while shooting offhand. Notice the sculptured buttcap, also polished and silver plated. No rib, ramrod pipes, or ramrod are fitted to this gentleman's target pistol. A separate loading and cleaning rod is required to serve this pistol. When cased in pairs, LePage pistols were favorites for deciding matters of honor, and were known as dueling pistols. The rear view shows the two tiny flush mounted blued steel sideplate escutcheons, which retain the two lock bolts.

This pistol is in as-new condition with a bright bore. The bright finish is clean and well maintained. Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted.
