An original antique Trapdoor Springfield Rifle bayonet.. The 18" triangular base is marked U.S. at the base (very hard to read). The locking ring on the 3" base is bent and the screw is broken. The inside corner of the slot is bent downward. The bayonet has a textured gray brown patina. We have only this one antique example.
