Sand cast yellow brass, this buttcap is appropriate for American flint pistols of the 1780-1810 era. Normally retained by an iron wood screw installed from below, we recommend using our Screw-10x1-1/2. Inletting this buttcap will be easier after you file finish the inside edge, and realize only this edge contacts the wood. The cap is hollow underneath.
