Our halfstock for your T/C Hawken rifle or kit is cut for for the standard 15/16” barrel found on .45 or .50 caliber factory assembled Thompson Center Hawken Rifles. In addition to the barrel, the tang, lock, double set triggers, and oval inlays are pre-inlet. This extra long stock may be cut to fit your buttplate, or select one of our steel buttplates, toeplate, and Thompson Center’s steel triggerguard and oval inlays, to trim your rifle in steel. Pour a pewter forend cap, or install our steel or nickel silver forend cap, and a 3/8” ramrod entry pipe if desired. Not cut for T/C’s unique brass capbox, this stock may be fitted with T/C’s percussion or flint lock and plug. Adjust pull length up to 14-1/2”, with up to 3” drop.
We are often asked how much work is required to restock a T/C Hawken, using our stock. Typically this project requires about 20 to 30 hours if it is your first such project. You must scrape in the final inletting at the tight spots, using our #INLET-BLACK or candle soot. You must drill pilot holes for the wood screws, et cetera. And you must shape, sand, and stain the stock to a smooth fine finish.
Stock is pre-inlet to accept the Thompson Center double set triggers, #TR-TC-HST, or use the R.E. Davis Deerslayer triggers, #TR-DST-TC. Use your original Thompson Center triggerguard or order one of our steel triggerguards for Thompson Center. Shaped with a beavertail cheek piece. This extra long stock may be cut to fit your buttplate, or select one of our steel buttplates, and toeplate, to trim your rifle in steel. Lock panels are shaped and the lock is pre-inlet to accept the factory Thompson Center flint or percussion lock. Or upgrade your lock to the L&R RPL lock available in both flint, #LOCK-LR-03-F and percussion #LOCK-LR-03-C.
