used, by Euroarms
Part Number: AAW-586
Availability: In Stock
Price: $549.00
Manufactured by Euroarms of Italy, this Enfield Musketoon, with 23" barrel is marked London Armoury Co. on the lock plate. Made for the caliber .577 hollow base Minie bullet that allowed quick reloading, achieved fine accuracy, and much longer range than the round ball muskets of an earlier generation. The musketoon is trimmed in brass with brass barrel bands. The stock has been refinished and the barrel is polished bright. The bore is bright, but does have some very minor pitting near the muzzle. Trigger reach is 13-7/8" to fit today's average size shooter. Weight is 7.2 pounds.

The caliber .577 caliber tapered round 23" barrel, excluding breech, is rifled with five narrow lands and wide grooves. The bore is bright, but does have some very minor pits near the muzzle. We could not feel these pits when we ran a tight fitting patch down the bore. The factory bluing has been removed and the barrel is polished bright. The barrel is stamped Made In Italy / Euroarms of America/ Cal .58- 3-1/2 Drams Black Powder Only. The breech has the DGG stamp used by Armi San Paulo before they became Euroarms. A blued military style front sight is fitted behind the muzzle. The right hand side has a lug for a sword bayonet ahead of the muzzle cap. The rear sight is calibrated and marked in 100 yard increments, up to 600 yards.

The stock is walnut and has been refinished to a matte finish. The brass buttplate, triggerguard, and muzzle cap, are retained with polished bright steel screws. The two barrel bands are brass, with a sling swivel mounted to the front band. A rear sling swivel is fitted to the toe of the buttstock. No sling is included. The brass ramrod is a replacement, and we note it is 3-1/4" short of the muzzle. We recommend our #RAMROD-C-29-10 to service this musketoon. Two brass sideplate washers are inlet flush into the stock, and counter bored to accept the two lock bolts.

The lock has a mottled color hardened appearance, with a few small scratches and dings. The classic Enfield percussion hammer is engraved with a border, and checkered at the thumb spur. The lock plate is stamped London Armoury Co. The tiny blued steel stud ahead of the triggerguard is a lanyard loop. Typically a small brass chain is attached to this loop which retains a nipple protector cup at the other end. This musketoon does not have the chain or nipple protector. This replica Enfield rifled musketoon is fitted with a 8-1.25mm threaded Enfield nipple for No. 11 percussion caps. Order our nipple #EMI-I if you require a spare.

This used Enfield Musketoon will be perfect for your next reenactment, or for the big game hunter requiring a short handy brush gun. Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund. Postage is your only risk, when you order any one-of-a-kind gun from Track, whether new, used, or antique.
