A reproduction of William Ashton, Middletown, Connecticut underhammer pistol circa 1850. Very similar in style to Adin Ruggle's 1830s percussion underhammer pistol. This light weight pistol features a walnut grip with steel frame, .38 caliber rifled 4" octagon-to-round barrel. The two piece oiled walnut grips are secured to the steel frame with a single screw. The browned octagon-to-round barrel is 4" long, .38 caliber with a rifled bore. The barrel has a soldered brass front sight and fixed rear sight with brass inset. The top barrel flat is stamped R. Olson. The right side of the barrel is stamped Cast Steel in the manner of many period antiques. The left side is stamped No. 64 and the left oblique flat is stamped with an R in a circle. The pistol has no trigger guard like the original W. Ashton & A. Ruggle underhammer.
A fine reproduction of a W. Ashton pistol. Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund. Postage is your only risk, when you order any one-of-a-kind gun from Track, whether new, used, or antique.
