Known as the Colt Third Model Dragoon revolver, this revolver is well finished, with a blued round barrel, factory engraved cylinder, color case hardened frame, brass back-strap and triggerguard, reddish brown walnut grips, and color case hardened loading lever. A bit larger and more powerful than the Colt 1860 Army, the Dragoon was an early favorite. Made by Aldo Uberti of Italy, the revolver is in excellent condition, with the factory carton. The cylinder has a few marks from the latch, and area around the wedge key has a few small marks.

Our top view shows the blued engraved cylinder and 7-1/2" tapered round barrel. This pistol is factory original. No markings are visible on the top of the barrel; instead Uberti has discreetly hidden them below the loading lever on the bottom of the gun. Our bottom view shows the color case hardened loading lever, and the polished brass triggerguard. The base of the barrel is hidden by the loading lever, it is here that the factory markings can be found.

The factory recommends .457" round balls, and each chamber will hold 35 grains of FFFg powder. Cover each ball with a small amount of our #LUBE-SPG bullet lubricant grease. Despite your best efforts, this revolver will need to be cleaned after 12 or 18 shots. Remove the wedge, barrel, and cylinder. Wipe the face of the cylinder, and wipe the cylinder pin.

If you continue to load and fire a badly fouled revolver, the effort needed to cock and fire the gun will become greater, causing the small internal hand, spring, and cylinder latch to become worn and slightly damaged. Continued abuse will cause the cylinder and latch to become out-of-time. Simple cleaning and maintenance will prevent problems; this pistol was made to be a precision shooter.

This used revolver includes the original box. Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund. Postage is your only risk, when you order any one-of-a-kind gun from Track, whether new, used, or antique.
