This well made powder horn is the work of contemporary artists Scott and Cathy Sibley. This 15-1/2" horn is very attractively curled and has been finished with an aged patina. The 2-1/4" diameter maple base is turned with decorative rings and stained to a deep red. It has been hollowed to increase the capacity. The base has a turned knob to secure a strap. The body has two applied bands in Southern banded horn fashion. The neck of the horn is fitted with a turned horn tip secured with small pins, and fitted with a hand carved stopper.
