This attractive Kentucky flintlock pistol has a straight octagon barrel, Chamber's small round faced flintlock, cherry stock, and brass furniture. The medium size bag style grip should fit comfortably in your hand and is nicely angled to easily sight down the barrel. The pistol has a very light patina applied by the maker and is signed on the top flat by contemporary builder T. Gray. This pistol has been test fired to align the sights, but is otherwise as-new.

The 10-1/4" straight octagon Green Mountain barrel has been draw filed smooth and finished to a dark blue. The .45 caliber bore is mirror bright, cut rifled with a fast twist ideal for a patched round ball. The barrel is fitted with a flat top rear sight with a square notch and a brass blade front sight. Green Mountain Muzzle Loading Rifle Barrels are machined from high quality American made bar stock, A.I.S.I. 1137 modified, stress relieved, annealed, certified rifle barrel quality steel. All barrels are drilled from solid stock, reamed to a high degree of smoothness, then optically checked for straightness. Very close tolerances are maintained.

This Kentucky pistol has a combination of American and English influenced features. The cherry stock has very attractive slender shaping with trim lock panels and a forend that just wraps the barrel. The stock has been stained to a deep reddish undertone and has been finished to a satin sheen. The slender grip is fitted with a bag style brass buttcap secured with a blued steel screw. The brass triggerguard is neatly filed with crisp flats and has a hand burnished appearance. The ramrod pipes are octagon with small raised rings on the ends. The ramrod is tapered and has no provisions for threaded accessories. The ramrod channel has a small protruding stud to act as a friction fitted ramrod catch to secure the ramrod in position. The side of the ramrod has a small groove to engage the stud. An additional dedicated loading and cleaning rod with 8-32 threaded jagged tip is supplied with the pistol. The side panels is fitted with a small brass sideplate inlet flush with the side panel. The lock bolt, and all other screw slots are indexed to the barrel.

Ignition is provided by the Chambers small Queen Anne flintlock. The rounded plate, pan, and the elegant cock are of London's best style, popular from 1730 to 1770. The lock is finished to a dark blue with a light patina. The lock is well tuned and sparks very well when fitted with a 3/4" knapped English flint #FLINT-ENG-6. The action of the frizzen has just started to rub a bright spot on the upper edge of the barrel flat. Fast ignition is assured by the stainless steel vent liner, positioned well above the bottom of the pan, centered on the heat of the flash. The single trigger is pinned high to provide good leverage against the sear, for a smooth release.

This well made flint pistol is nicely fitted and finished, it has a light patina finish on the Chambers Queen Anne lock. The lock sparks well, and the bore is bright and clean. Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund.
