This Kentucky pistol is stocked in curly maple, stained brown with golden undertones. The nickel silver furniture has a hand burnished appearance and nicely compliments the tone of the stock. The straight octagon Green Mountain barrel is finished to a dark brown, while the small Siler lock has a dark gray patina.

The 8-1/2" straight octagon Green Mountain Barrel Company has been draw filed smooth and finished to matte brown. The top flat has the Green Mountain touch and caliber markings. The .36 caliber bore is mirror bright, cut rifled with eight lands and grooves with a fast twist ideal for a patched round ball. The bore is bright and has been well maintained. The barrel is fitted with a steel blade front sight and dovetailed with a rear sight just ahead of the breech to maximize available sight radius.

Finished to a matte blue gray with some scattered patina from use, the small Siler flintlock has a crisp action. We recommend using our best 5/8" knapped English gun flints, #FLINT-ENG-5. A stainless steel vent liner is installed a bit lower than is considered ideal. The single trigger is pinned high to provide good leverage against the sear of the lock.

The stock is stained to a dark brown with golden undertones to best display the figure. The stock and barrel are secured with a single underlug behind the ramrod entry pipes. As the pistol has aged the forend of this stock has pulled down away from the barrel very slightly, giving it some "squish" on that short length. Viewed from above the breech end of the barrel is fitted with a flared tang with a pointed finial. . A single tang bolt is threaded into the trigger plate below. The stock is shaped with graceful slender proportions. The wrist is fitted with a nickel silver thumbpiece and decorated with brass wire inlay. The triggerguard is correctly mounted by one steel screw and one dowel pin. All of the nickel silver furniture has a hand burnished appearance and areas that are frequently handled have started to discolor to a mellow patina. The ramrod has no provisions for threaded accessories, and we suggest using a dedicated pistol rod for loading and cleaning, our #PL-5-36. Two lock bolts secure the small Siler flintlock. The lock bolts are finished to a dark blue-gray. The burnished nickel silver sideplate is accented with a few hand engraved designs.
