This beautiful hand made Buffalo powder horn measures 16-1/2" long, as measured around the outer curve from the applied horn tip to the base. The tip is a turned from a lighter color horn tip and darker horn base applied to the neck, creating a raised lip to secure a strap. A hand carved wooden stopper is fitted. Buffalo horn differs from cow horn and the smooth hand scraped finish displays some of the natural grain of the horn along the body. The 3" diameter turned base plug is decorated with turned rings. The base plug has been internally hollowed to increase the horn volume. A turned knob is fitted to secure a strap.
