This beautiful Model 1875 Sharps Sporting Rifle is in excellent condition. Marked OLD RELIABLE on the top flat of the barrel, this rifle was made by C. Sharps Arms Company, Big Timber, Montana, and is so marked. This rifle is chambered for 32-40 WCF bottleneck case. We have this rifle on display, ready for same day shipment on receipt of your funds, and your favorite dealer's signed FFL copy. We must deliver to a Minnesota resident, or to a licensed dealer in any other state.

Standard features include the nicely color case hardened frame, which is especially well colored on this rifle. The buttstock is fitted with a checkered steel shotgun buttplate, also color case hardened to match the action. The straight grain American black walnut stock is well shaped with a slender pistol grip, and Schnabel forearm. Custom features include checkering on the wrist and forearm. Trigger reach is 13-7/8" and weight is 11.5 pounds.

The .32-40 caliber bore is bright and perfect. The tapered round 28" long barrel has a matte blue finish. The top of the barrel is marked OLD RELIABLE. Near the breech the top of the barrel is marked C. SHARPS ARMS CO. INC. followed by CALIBER 32-40. The mid-range Vernier tang sight, with windage, by C. Sharps, is fitted to the tang. A globe target front sight with spirit level is dovetailed to the barrel. The sight has a ghost ring insert installed currently. No additional inserts are included. Note that C. Sharps rifles have the same original dovetail dimensions as the antique Sharps rifles, with a 7/16" dovetail, not the modern 3/8" dovetail found on some replicas.

The rifle is stocked in straight grain American black walnut finished to a medium brown. The wrist and forearm are neatly and professionally checkered. In near new condition, the wood shows few obvious handling marks in the factory finish. The shotgun style pistol grip buttstock, with wide flat checkered steel buttplate, will help reduce the recoil from this big rifle. An oval cheekpiece with accent line is carved into the buttstock making this rifle comfortable for use by a right hand shooter.

The 1875 Sharps lock action is smooth and crisp. It is correctly color case hardened, in subtle shades of blues, purples, grays, with faint yellow undertones. The trigger release is smooth and crisp. The side of the action is marked C. SHARPS ARMS CO. INC. over BIG TIMBER, MONTANA, U.S.A.
