This Iver Johnson double action revolver was manufactured in the 1880's. This revolver is chambered for a .32 center fire cartridge, typically .32 S&W (short) centerfire. The 3" barrel and frame are nickel plated, and this revolver is fitted with hard rubber grips. The bore is mostly bright, with light pitting running throughout. The nickel plated finish has worn from the front of the cylinder and around the muzzle, with a brown patina showing through. This revolver qualifies as a antique and can be shipped directly to you.
The barrel is marked IVER JOHNSON CO. FITCHBURG MASS. U.S.A. PAT'D MAY 10, 87. DEC. 26, 93. PAT'S PENDING in two lines. The small lever on the left side of the revolver is lifted up to release the top break action, which has only a single lug, used on the earliest variations. The cartridge extractor raises to eject spend cases. The bluing has worn off the iron trigger guard. The checkered hard rubber grips are still in good condition. This revolver can be fired in double or single action mode. The action has good timing and locks up correctly.
