Named after the ingenious French gun maker, who invented the break-open action, Casimir Lefaucheaux, this antique style hammer shotgun has a steel underlever forming the forend. A real find for some lucky Cowboy Western Match Shooter, this well made double shotgun appears to be a fine original 1880 period antique, but was made after 1898 with fluid steel barrels and thus requires transfer to a Minnesota resident or FFL dealer.

Known as the Model 20, this 12 gauge hammer double shotgun was made by Husqvarna, in Sweden, from 1877 until 1946. It spanned the era from our Indian Wars until after World War II. It remained a popular design, in Sweden, long after hammer doubles were obsolete here. This 12 gauge double shotgun will be comfortable for a modern shooter, with 14" and 13" trigger reach to fit a medium to tall size shooter. This light double shotgun weighs only 7.2 pounds.

The 29-1/2" barrels are modern fluid steel and chambered for up to 2-5/8" shot shells. Hammer shotguns are most often found with Damascus wire twist barrels. We prefer to shoot black powder hand loads, only, in original antique shotguns, but you have your choice in this nice double gun. We can provide the components and tools to load shot shells for this nice old shotgun. You won't need any expensive tools. Each barrel is marked HUSQVARNA VAPENFABRIKS A.B. in tiny script, on the top, near the breech. The smooth top rib is fitted with a brass bead front sight, near the muzzle. Both bores are bright and well maintained. The right barrel measures .695" at the muzzle and the left barrel measures .685" diameter.

The nice steel buttplate is wide and nearly flat, to minimize recoil. Note the walnut stock of this particular shotgun has seen a bit more wear and tear than some of the other Husqvarna guns. Handling marks, the result of normal use, can be found on the butt and the finish has begun to wear in multiple locations, but the stock has no serious flaws or repairs. Made with perfect symmetry, this double shotgun is equally suited to a right or left hand shooter. Sling swivels are mounted under the midpoint of the barrels, and ahead of the toe of the buttstock, for your 3/4" leather sling. Two 1/4" cracks extend from both sides of the swivel stud. A 1/2" crack extends from the buttplate on the bottom of the toe. Very faint drying cracks can be seen around the locks.

The finger lever under the forend, allows the barrels to tip open, revealing normal extractors. These extractors lift the cartridges, and present them for easy removal. The thumb lever and action are crisp, tight, and ready to give another lifetime of good service. The forend has a second smaller steel finger lever, to dismount the forend and barrels from the action.

The back action locks have rebounding hammers, to remove pressure from the firing pins after firing, allowing easy extraction of the cases. This improvement allows the breech to open without dragging the firing pins across the primers. Both the front and rear triggers have a smooth crisp release, with no creep or drag. Both hammers wiggle on their tumblers. The left tumbler screw is broken off in the tumbler.

Cowboy match shooters, and gentleman hunters, will enjoy shooting this light weight hammer double shotgun. It has the eye appeal of a fine antique. It will give you the grace, elegance, feel, and function of an original antique, plus the confidence of shooting modern fluid steel barrels made of Swedish steel. It does require shipment to a FFL dealer for transfer. Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund. Postage is your only risk, when you order any one-of-a-kind gun from Track, whether new, used, or antique.

Ready for same day shipment on receipt of your funds, and your Federal Firearms Licensed dealer's signed FFL copy. We must deliver to a Minnesota resident, or to a licensed dealer in any other state.
