The Stevens single shot actions were introduced in the 1890's and have been popular with shooters since that period. This Stevens Crack Shot-26 model has a round barrel, the breech block is squared with flat sides, the take down knob is knurled. The Crack Shot was marketed as a fine boys rifle, but with its 12-3/4" length of pull an average size adult could shoot it comfortably. Due to the production date of this rifle it qualifies for FFL transfer and can be picked up by a Minnesota resident, or it must be shipped to a FFL dealer in another state.

The barrel is fitted with a replacement flat top rear sight that is left unfinished. The front sight is a silver blade soldered directly to the barrel. This rifle has been refinished and is chambered to shoot modern .22 long rifle ammunition. The .22 caliber bore has been relined when the rifle was refinished. The top of the barrel is marked J. STEVENS ARMS COMPANY. PAT. APR. 22, 1913. and CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS, U.S.A .22- LONG RIFLE. The left side of the receiver is marked CRACK SHOT-26.

The American black walnut stock with straight grip forend shows good straight grain. Both the buttstock and the forearm have been refinished. There is an 1-1/2" repaired crack along the top of the wrist running back from the receiver. Another 1-1/2" repaired crack on the bottom of the wrist is visible. There is no movement in the cracks. The barrel has been re-blued and shows a few very minor handling marks. We note the lever has excessive side-to-side play. The action still functions as it should.

With perfect bi-lateral symmetry, this rifle is nearly identical in appearance when viewed from the right or left. Thus, it is equally welcome to a right or left hand shooter. This classic American single shot rifle weighs 3.3 pounds. With a relined bore it will be a joy to shoot! Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund. Postage is your only risk, when you order any one-of-a-kind gun from Track, whether new, used, or antique.

Ready for same day shipment on receipt of your funds, and your Federal Firearms Licensed dealer's signed FFL copy. We must deliver to a Minnesota resident, or to a licensed dealer in any other state.
