This left hand Lyman Deerstalker rifle is used with a few marks on the stock and barrel finish. The .54 caliber percussion rifle is stocked in walnut with blackened furniture and a rubber recoil pad. The rifle has a single trigger with large bow for a hunter's gloved finger, sling swivel mounts, a fiber optic front sight, folding leaf rear sight, a No. 57 Lyman peep sight, and synthetic ramrod. Trigger reach is 14" to fit today's average size shooter. Weight is 7 pounds.

The 24" octagon barrel is rifled in .54 caliber with a 1 in 48" twist. The .50 caliber bore is bright and has been well maintained. The barrel was fitted with a red fiber optic front sight, for easy sighting in the field. The blued steel folding blade rear sight is mounted to the barrel. Made with an adjustable sliding inner leaf for elevation and windage adjustment. It folds flat, to allow use with a peep style sight. The tang of the breech is drilled and tapped and is fitted with a Lyman 57 rear sight. The sight is designed for a right hand shooter and puts the adjustment block on the left hand side of the rifle. It is one of the few options for a peep sight for this rifle.

The walnut stock is fitted with a black rubber recoil pad. The buttstock is fitted with a sling swivel stud. A forward stud is mounted to the single ramrod pipe. The hooked breech is easily dismounted for cleaning. A single wedge key is fitted through oval iron inlays. After pressing out the wedge key from the forend, withdraw the ramrod, and lift the muzzle end to unhook the breech. The 3/8" ramrod is an unbreakable synthetic rod, with a brass jag tip with concave end for loading. A small spring under the rib retains the ramrod, and prevents motion under recoil, or rattle when being carried. The lock plate and hammer are color case hardened, in muted mottled colors, as original. The breech is fitted with a 6-.75mm threaded stainless steel nipple.
