Parts from a Chiappa of Italy 1842 Freemont musket. The Freemont musket was a shortened version of the Model 1842 that used only two barrel bands. Parts include: Chiappa brand 1842 percussion musket lock marked Springfield 1847, sideplate, two lock bolts, buttplate, two buttplate screws, trigger and triggerguard with rear swivel, triggerguard screws, tang bolt, rear band and band spring, front band with forward swivel and band spring, 32-5/8" long ramrod, ramrod retaining spoon and pin. Parts appear to be from a used musket with a few marks on them.
