This is a reproduction of a British Dragoon pistol that is finely crafted and offered in new condition. The English dragoon pistol is an ideal accoutrement for Revolutionary War period events. Stocked in correct walnut, trimmed with brass furniture, this pistol features a tapered round .62 caliber smooth bore, 10-1/2" barrel with a clean bright bore that is ready to shoot. This pistol was neatly assembled by contemporary maker Kendall Brady. The pistol weighs 2.5 pounds and points naturally when aimed.

The .62 caliber smoothbore 10-1/2" tapered round barrel is finished armory bright. The 0.623" diameter bore is bright, in new condition. A wedding band decorates the breech end of the barrel near the tang. No sights are fitted, typical of 18th century military pistols designed to be used at close range. A single tang bolt passes through the flared tang to engage the trigger plate below.

Stocked in dense walnut, with a warm brown tone that nicely contrasts the brass furniture and brightly finished lock and barrel. The stock is very well shaped with raised moldings around the lock panels, and a slender forearm and grip. The tang is surrounded by raised carving that is neatly executed. The top of the grip is decorated with a brass military thumbpiece. The buttcap langets are neatly inleted and fitted. The large grip swells slightly at the end, for best comfort in your hand. The brass triggerguard is mounted with a combination of pin and screw. One brass rod pipe and matching entry pipe with long pointed skirt retains the ramrod fitted with a flared brass end. No threaded tips are provided on the ramrod, and we recommend our #PL-7-62 to service this pistol. No muzzle cap is fitted to the muzzle end of the forend. The flintlock is retained by two lock bolts, fitted to a military themed brass sideplate.

The pistol features a Chambers small Queen Anne pistol lock. The rounded plate, pan, and the elegant cock are of London’s best style, popular from 1730 to 1770. The lock is polished bright to match the barrel. We recommend a 3/4" by 7/8" knapped English gun flint for use with this pistol. The direct drilled vent hole is well centered on the pan. Notice the attractive curled trigger, pinned high for best leverage. This trigger has a smooth easy release.

This .62 caliber smoothbore British Dragoon pistol is neatly finished and is ready to shoot. Perfect for the British military re-enactor or collector. You will not be disappointed! Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund.
