J&S Hawken Pistol Percussion LockDesigned for use with our Hawken pistol breech plug, on a 15/16" octagon barrel, the small plate and hammer make this lock perfect for use on a pistol. The plate is trimmed close to the internal parts, to minimize this lock’s apparent size. With no space for a front lock bolt, this lock must be mounted with a single lock bolt threaded into the recess behind the plate bolster.
The lock plate is precut for our
#Plug-HP-15-5 hooked breech and tang. A good fit “as cast”, you can achieve a near perfect fit by filing the rear half of the crescent notch, until the hammer engages the nipple perfectly.
Order our
#Plug-HP-15-5 breech plug and tang, and the special short #PST-A nipple. Study the geometry before you cut, to insure correct hammer alignment with the nipple. Not much fitting is needed.
